Halloween at Bethel: It’s About More Than Candy
There’s something magical about Halloween at Bethel Lutheran Home. The costumes, the candy, the excitement—and most of all, the smiles that come when little trick-or-treaters walk through our doors!
We are looking forward to welcoming children and their families for an evening of Halloween fun on Friday, October 30. Our residents are ready with bowls of candy, friendly greetings, and plenty of enthusiasm for the parade of princesses, superheroes, dinosaurs, ghosts, and everything in between.
But while the children may come for the candy, they leave behind something even sweeter.
The magic of bringing generations together.
For our residents, Halloween is about much more than handing out treats. It's an opportunity to connect with the youngest members of our community, admire their creative costumes, share a laugh, and enjoy the excitement that only children can bring.
And the benefits go both ways!
When children visit a nursing home, they learn that growing older doesn't mean growing apart. They discover that behind every smile is someone with stories to tell, wisdom to share, and a genuine interest in their lives. A simple "trick or treat" can turn into a conversation, a giggle, or a memory that lasts long after the candy is gone.
These interactions help bridge the generations, reminding us that friendship and kindness have no age limits.
At Bethel, we believe that being part of a community means bringing people together at every stage of life. Whether it's a family visit, a church group stopping by, or hundreds of little ghosts and goblins filling our hallways, these moments of connection bring energy, laughter, and joy into our Home.
And sometimes, the smallest visitors bring the biggest smiles.
Come Trick-or-Treat With Us!
We invite children of all ages and their families to join us at Bethel Lutheran Home for Halloween trick-or-treating! Put on your favorite costume, bring your candy bucket, and enjoy a fun visit with our residents - Friday, October 30 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.
And here's something we'd love you to remember: You don't need a costume or a special occasion to visit Bethel! We welcome opportunities for children and families to spend time with our residents throughout the year. A friendly hello, a short conversation, or a few minutes spent together can brighten someone's entire day.
